Your wedding should be a day to enjoy!

Have you thought about starting a wedding diet?

You want to look good in front of your guests on the day, but you also want the photos to show you off as the most beautiful bride. Your wedding photos are there to capture your beauty (or otherwise) forever so they need to be perfect.

But with a population of overweight people and the trend towards getting married later in life, the reality is that a lot of brides will be heavier that they were. This doesn’t mean that the groom is worried, but often the bride is concerned that she won’t be the prettiest lady on her special day.

We are not talking about a wedding diet to make you look thin as that is not what the groom wants and should not be what you want either. If you are a plus size bride now then you may want a wedding diet to trim down a little and to make sure you look radiant, toned and irresistible!

Planning Your Wedding

Planning a wedding is never a simple task.

You have to plan the day itself including arranging a venue, the catering and the flowers. The venue needs to be perfect and

You need to plan for the music and the dreaded guest list!

It can be fun planning a wedding but there are always going to be a few issues that you will need to deal with and for most brides their appearance on the wedding day is on the top of that list.

To look stunning often means you want to ensure that your body is slim while still retaining those curves and shape. You want your arms and legs to look toned not flabby and your tummy and bum need to look great too.

You don’t want a wedding diet that is going to take away your shape but you might want a wedding diet to make your shape and curves look natural and healthy.

In reality, you want to look like a princess and princesses don’t have a fat tummy or big bums!

So you need to lose weight and tone up before your big day.

You need to start on a wedding diet right away.

A Wedding Diet!!!

You know you want to look great for your wedding day, so there are not too many options.

You also know that you cannot delay starting your wedding diet unless you want to delay your wedding.

When Should You Start Your Wedding Diet?

There is no one answer that would suit all brides.

The amount of time you need really depends on how much weight you want to lose and how much toning you want to do.

Time pressures can occur if you have already ordered your wedding dress in a smaller size, have been given or loaned a wedding dress that is a size too small or have put on weight since purchasing your wedding dress.

In a perfect world you will have allowed enough time to sensibly and safely lose the weight you want so that you look stunning on your wedding day. But for most of us there will never be enough time to fit everything in before the wedding day.

We need help!

Eat Well

It is easy to say you should watch your diet and eat well for the months leading up to your wedding day; however we know that during these busy and stressful times maintain a good healthy diet is more difficult than usual.

Exercise

Again, it is easy to say that you should exercise regularly in the months leading up to your wedding, but really there are so much better and more important things to do. Exercise is often hard to fit into a busy schedule.

Crash Diet

A crash diet is not recommended.

The problem with a crash diet is you are making sudden changes to your diet with the goal of losing weight and this normally means staving your body of the nutrients it needs to maintain a constant level of health. Upsetting this balance within your body can lead to other health issues with a common initial problem being skin issues.

A crash diet does also not help with giving you a toned body and even if you lose weight, you can quite easily look unhealthy and flabby.

Diet Pills

The problem and danger with diet pills is that those affect your nervous system. Most contain caffeine as the main ingredient which will make you feel edgy and moody.

With a pending wedding, the last thing you need is any more stresses!

Metabolic Diet

A metabolic diet is the best and safest way to lose weight.

With most diets you have to change your habits (eating and exercise) to have any chance of success and during the build-up to your wedding you have probably got other things that you need to focus on.

With a metabolic diet the key focus is to boost your metabolism so that you burn fat and efficiently digest your food so that you don’t store any fat. It is all about making your body work better so that the nutrients that are needed are taken out of the food you eat, while the rest is flushed through your system and expelled rather than being store by being converted to fat.

A metabolic diet can be started immediately by using the Ayurvedic supplement known as the Yogic Slim.

Yogic Slim is easy to use.

You simply take twice daily to boost your metabolism.

Get Started Today

So before your wedding day you should plan to start a metabolic diet to get your body in shape.

You should try to also include some exercise and watch what you are eating too but don’t get stressed over this as you have better things to do. Instead, put your efforts into accentuating your best features — hair, hands, eyes, smile — and work on your inner beauty.

After a wedding diet you will look radiant, I promise.

Consider improving your immune system now for prevention of any cold and flu.

Go Away Cold and Flu!

You are not very popular when you have cold and flu symptoms and try to socialise or go to work. But it is not your fault that you have these cold and flu symptoms, or is it?

A cold and flu is a very common illness that can be annoying and drain you of energy.

Most often the symptoms from a cold and flu will only last for a few days. If these cold and flu symptoms become more severe or last more than about a week, medical advice should be sought.

People more at risk of complications from colds and flu include the elderly, those with a chronic medical condition (such as heart disease), or those with a depressed immune system.

The most common time to get a cold or flu is when the weather changes (winter colds) or when you are feeling a little run down. This is when your immune system is depressed and not adequately protecting you.

Are Cold and Flu The Same?

Colds and flu are often confused for one another, especially when it comes to treatment. They are, in fact, two different illnesses. The common cold is an inflammation of the mucous membranes caused by a number of viruses. Flu or Influenza is an acute viral infection of the respiratory tract.

Colds tend to begin slowly, with a sore throat, sneezing and runny nose. Temperature may be normal or slightly elevated.

The flu generally comes on quickly and in most cases what we refer to as the flu is Influenza.

Influenza is a serious and highly contagious illness that can affect the healthiest of people. Flu is often called a respiratory disease, but it can affect the whole body. It can be life-threatening.

But the best way to deal with cold and flu or any illness is still prevention.

If you have recently had cold and flu symptoms you would agree that prevention is preferable to suffering through episodes of illness. So even though the medical treatment of flu symptoms may differ from the treatment for a common cold, prevention is still the goal.

Cold and Flu Prevention

Having a healthy immune system will help protect your body from being susceptible to the common cold and flu. More importantly, a weak immune system will not protect your body from these colds and flu or any other infection.

We all want to boost our immune system so that our body provides its own natural cold and flu prevention barriers. This is the concept of preventing any illness rather than just addressing the symptoms with medication.

There are many ways to boost your immune system and here we will address three of the most common which include healthy living, the flu shot or flu vaccine and supplements specifically designed to improve your immunity.

Healthy Living

Our environment is now not as pure as it once was and therefore it is harder lead a healthy lifestyle, but there are things that we can control.

Try a diet of brightly coloured fruits and vegetables, including berries, citrus fruits, kiwi, apples, red grapes, kale, onions, spinach, sweet potatoes, and carrots will help build a healthier immune system. Other immune-boosting foods include fresh garlic (which has antiviral and antibacterial properties) and old-fashioned chicken soup.

Unfortunately many of these food types are not produced and available when we need them most.

Regular exercise elevates the level of leukocytes, an Immune System cell that fights infection.

Exercise also increases release of endorphins, natural hormones that heighten your sense of well being and improve sleep quality, both of which have positive effects on your Immune System.

You may have noticed you’re more likely to catch a cold or any other infections when you’re not getting enough sleep. During deep sleep, your body produces blood cells and raises oxygen levels to strengthen immune function.

Flu Shot or Flu Vaccine

Having a flu shot or flu vaccine is a common way to protect against the flu.

New vaccines are made each year, depending on the strains of virus that are around, so it is important to have one every year.

The vaccine or flu shot will improve your chances of not getting the flu, but it does not give 100% protection and some reports suggest it does not actually offer much protection at all.

Supplements to Support Your Immune System

There are many opinions on what vitamins, minerals and herbs will support the immune system.

Some of the more commonly known supplements used to improve immune system function are vitamins C, D and E, Zinc (in moderation), Selenium, Echinacea, Omega 3, grape seed extracts and green tea. There are also many other herbs such as basil, turmeric and cumin that have health benefits and should be combined in cooking and supplements.

To boost your immune system a combination of supplements will provide you the vitamins, minerals and herbs you need to achieve the best results.

This combination should include a quality multivitamin, Omega 3 and Immunice herbal immunity boosting supplements. All of these can be taken daily in tablet form.

Immunice is one of the best natural health supplements that combine a blend of herbal concentrates which helps the body strengthen the immune system.

Start to support your immune system today for a life free of cold and flu.

What Are Your Your Weight Loss Goals?

There are a lot of people wanting to lose weight, but they don’t know how to set the right weight loss goals.

Set Your Weight Loss Goals

You might just want to look sexy or get that six-pack that you have seen others show off. But these goals are too general for the weight loss goals you need here.

When you are making weight loss goals they need to be very specific. The goals need to be time-based or measurable, as well as something that is realistic for you to achieve.

Try to have action-oriented goals for your weight loss program so you can feel the sense of achievement and even reward yourself when you hit the goal.

Set Short-Term Weight Loss Goals First

Measuring progress is important and to be able to hit your short-term goals will help keep you motivated.

This is a process that must be repeated during the course of the weight loss program until its completion. With this type of planning you won’t get you frustrated at your lack of progress, because you will be hitting those goals and therefore see progress. You will then be able to celebrate mini-milestones which will then provide the essential motivation to keep going with your diet and exercise plans.

Basically all you need to do is change your mentality from a month to a week. Thinking in shorter time-frames of about seven days means you have less time and therefore less chance of the plan going off track.

Be Specific With Your Weight Loss Goals!

When you say exercising every day, it sounds like more effort than saying take a short 15 minute walk after dinner. Try to combine the “how much” aspect with the “what kind” factor of your weight loss goals. You will be able to achieve many things as well as include an objective measurement to your progress.

One example of this is to add the weight you want to lose (your weight loss goal – quantity) in a certain time frame instead of the goal to lose weight (quality).

Another example of this is eating an extra serving that day of something healthy such as fruit, salad or a vegetable rather than focus on less food consumption, which would be quantity over quality. This is one way you can track your progress.

Rewarding Weight Loss Goals

These are obviously the weight loss goals you set so that you can pat yourself on the back.

As humans we seek positive reinforcement for our achievements in life.

Some people are motivated by money, others by love, and still others by simply being appreciated, so there are many ways to be motivated. In reality, you will find this to be just as true when trying to lose weight.

Achievable weight loss goals that are within your reach are what you should aim at. For example, aim to lose 2 pounds this week. As that goal is reached, give yourself a positive motivator as a reward, and move on to the next goal.

Tools That Help

There are many weight loss ideas, programs and even weight loss supplements that can help you to reach the weight loss goals that you have set, but you need to consider what will suit you.

Herbal weight loss supplements are popular as they give your body some of the nutrients that you may lack and therefore ensures your body performs. It is a known fact that having higher energy levels and a performing metabolic system will increase your chance of losing weight.

Some of these weight loss supplements focus on one ingredient; however herbal supplements like the popular Yogic Slim have a blend of ingredients. For this reason people who use Yogic Slim find they get benefits to their body that go beyond better digestion and weight loss.

Supplements are a great tool that can assist you towards reaching your weight loss goals.

Staying Positive

When you stay positive you can achieve safe, effective and healthy weight loss.

Don’t give up if your miss a goal. It is a fact of life that we will fail sometimes, but we need to get back up and keep on going so we can “win” the next time.

You have set specific weight loss goals, and now for your own happiness you need to work out a way to stay committed to the weight loss goals you have set.

By setting smaller goals, you will get to your bigger weight loss goals in time.

Raspberry Ketone Max is a natural weight loss programme that is proven to work.

Most people struggle to reduce their weight – trying numerous diets and fat burners until they give up.

So many diets don’t work and it can be extremely frustrating, but there is now a solution for you!

Raspberry Ketone has shown remarkable results with many people and could help people who have been unsuccessful with other diets and products finally begin to lose weight.

Raspberry Ketone May Be Your Answer To Weight Loss

The key thing is usually to discover a reliable source where one can buy raspberry ketone on your weight-loss efforts. You can purchase Raspberry Ketone is a few shops, but by far the most popular way to purchase Raspberry Ketone is buying online.

You can click the banner below to order your Raspberry Ketone today.

Raspberry ketone will be the compound in red raspberries that gives their distinctive aroma.

Research has revealed that it compound may in fact regulate adiponectin, the protein the fact that body uses so as to regulate metabolism.

Without a doubt, when you re able to raise the body’s metabolism, you are able to can help to up the rate of which you reduce weight.

Many people struggle to lose weight because they use a low metabolism. Unfortunately, a low metabolism ways that your system needs fewer calories; however, if you reduce calories to connect with this reduced need, your system readjusts and again requires even fewer calories. This cycle can make it almost impossible to shed unwanted pounds and inches.

Raspberry ketone can help divide fat molecules in the cells so the fat can be burned more easily.

Even though it is possible to get this compound by eating raspberries, you’ll will need to consume about 40 kilograms (90 pounds) to be getting enough to perform well. Needless to say that would be more difficult!

You should purchase raspberry ketone supplements to help you shed those extra weight and when in conjunction with exercise plus a nutritious diet, you’ll be able to finally reach your weight loss goals.

Raspberry Ketone is not expensive, and it works for most people!

We have been taught that a healthy diet and regular exercise are the prerequisites for good health.

What is less often emphasized is how we can ensure that we have a healthy diet with the lifestyle we lead today.

Conventional health advice says that we should eat adequate servings of fresh fruit and fresh vegetables daily. Nothing will take the place of eating a good and healthy diet but it is not always an easy thing to do.

In this article we look at why our diet may not be good enough and discuss the role of nutritional supplements.

Using nutritional supplements is an easy way to ensure you are getting all of the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients your body needs.

Times Have Changed!

Over the years we have got more dependent on supplementing our diets.

People around the world are using supplements every day to substitute the missing nutrients. Many people don’y even know why they use supplements, but they believe the supplements will be good for them.

Diet pills and weight loss supplements are some of the most popular. There are some good diet supplements but also many will do very little to help you lose weight as they focus on the wrong issues. Yogic Slim is a weight loss supplement that focuses on the metabolism and therefore works – it will help you lose and then manage your weight.

Try Yogic Slim Supplements

Why Do We Need Supplements?

There are some key reasons why we need to use supplements today and we have highlighted a few of the more common reasons here;

Depleted Soils
Even fruit and vegetables today are not as good as they were some years ago.

Unfortunately many of the foods we eat today come from soils that are depleted and have insufficient mineral content. When foods are grown over and over again in the same soils, the mineral content of that soil becomes depleted over time.

Food quality can vary from farm to farm, from region to region and from country to country.

Delivery Times
As the cities grow the farming areas become further away. This means that so much of our fresh produce is not being trucked greater distances before it gets to our shops.

As consumers we are also looking for a greater choice of food. We may want to have Italian for dinner tonight and Indian tomorrow and we want to be able to get all the ingredients at our local shops.

With longer transport times and a growing expectation for choice, the food producers are using chemicals on the food to maintain the freshness and good looks so that they can get the best possible prices for their produce.

Over Cooking
People have a bad habit of over cooking our food resulting in a loss of the nutritional value. This means the meals we are eating is providing us with far fewer vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and enzymes to fuel our bodies. Eating these depleted foods over time creates its own set of health problems.

Fresh, only slightly cooked or even raw fruits and vegetables is always the best way to eat these foods to ensure that you get all the goodness.

Skipping Meals
The way we eat is not good for our digestive system.

We may often skip a meal, grab a quick meal on the run or eat at irregular times. Grabbing a doughnut while and a coffee or an energy drink does not constitute a good meal.

Normal Aging
As we age it is natural or common for our bodies to produce fewer enzymes including all the important ones needed to properly digest and assimilate the foods we eat. Eventually, this results in stomach complaints like reflux, heartburn, upset stomach and chronic constipation.

While it is thought of as quite normal, it doesn’t have to be.

Stress
We all seem to lead busy lives and some of us are busier than others!

Between commitments to your family, school, work, community, faith and other obligations, our lives are stressed to the max! All of this stress takes a toll on your body and weakens your immune system.

These are only some of the reasons for using supplements – these are the ones that you might recognise.

Taking supplements can help to restore some balance to your body and help you to stay in good health. Once you have made the decision to supplement you diet you want to get the best nutritional supplement or supplements with the most potent nutrients.

Many experts believe that getting fish oil can help you regulate your cholesterol in the body but the question remains – can fish oil alone reduce cholesterol levels.

Why Reduce Cholesterol Levels?

When we ask this question we first must have a basic understanding of the reason that we may think that fish oil can reduce cholesterol levels, or more importantly will fish oil reduce cholesterol levels on its own.

What is Cholesterol?

Your body produces natural Cholesterol to fix inflammation within your body.

To understand how to reduce cholesterol it is important to understand why your body is producing too much cholesterol.

It is therefore not really the high cholesterol reading that is the problem; it is the reason for the inflammation to be there within your body that is the real problem.

Cholesterol is actually good!

Reduce Cholesterol Levels

Fish oil is one way to help to reduce cholesterol levels; however fish oil alone will not normally make enough of a difference to your cholesterol levels.

How Fish Oil Works

Fish oil contains high levels of Omega 3 fatty acids. These Omega 3 fatty acids are poly-unsaturated fatty acids which increase HDL cholesterol and act as anticoagulant to prevent blood from clotting and also include anti inflammatory properties and positive effects on the bodies composition.

So will this reduce cholesterol levels?

The fish oil therefore works to repair inflammation within your body. By fixing the inflammation, the body knows to reduce the amount of cholesterol it produces which will reduce the cholesterol levels over time.

While fish oil will help to reduce cholesterol levels, if you already have high cholesterol you may want something more effective to reduce choesterol levels more quickly.

Reduce Cholesterol Levels with Additional Supplements

Cardiofy is a natural herbal supplement geared towards optimizing and managing your overall cardiovascular health – your heart and arteries.

Cardiofy nourishes and stimulates the cardiovascular system to relieve effects of stress and hypertension by restoring core energy which will reduce cholesterol levels.

Cardiofy is 100% natural and is made from herbal extracts mixed is specific and exact amounts so that the benefits are maximised. It comes in a capsule form that is taken twice daily and most importantly unlike many drugs that are prescribed for reducing cholesterol levels, Cardiofy has no side effects.

Reducing cholesterol levels are achieved by increasing blood circulation, normalizing lipid metabolism, regulating cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Cardiofy also helps in reducing cholesterol levels by stimulating liver functions. With improved liver enzyme activity the whole cardiovascular system will be more efficient and this will assist more than anything else in reducing cholesterol levels.

In Summary

When you have been told or are just thinking about reducing cholesterol levels you should be using fish oil and Cardiofy together.

Fish oil alone is unlikely to be the sole answer to reduce cholesterol levels.

Forget the trendy diet and the pictures of young people with abs and instead learn about the causes of weight gain and therefore understand the weight loss secret.

Unzip the weight loss secret today.

Non-medical methods for weight loss such as diet programs and fat targeting exercise routines have failed to break the cycle of weight gain. This is because most fat loss diets do not address the causes of weight gain and therefore cannot understand the weight loss secret.

Your key to weight loss is here … the weight loss secret

Doctors now mostly agree that the underlying causes of weight gain are driven by the body’s inability to break up fat molecules – not just over eating. Sure – overeating may be seen as a factor that contributes to weight gain as does the lack of exercise; however this does not mean that diet and exercise alone will reverse this trend and mean weight loss.

Diet and exercise are not the weight loss secret.

To sustain long-term weight loss you must first restore the body’s ability to break up the fat molecules – to optimize digestion and nutrient absorption and get your thyroid working better to increase metabolism. The weight loss secret is to get your body to function better and therefore burn fat everyday.

Everyone needs some body fat to lead a healthy life but too much fat can cause health problems. Obesity is now a common and serious problem – it means that you have an unhealthy amount of body fat and can be the result of a number of factors.

The weight loss secret is not new;

Weight loss secret 1: Regulating appetite

Weight loss secret 2: Optimizing digestion and nutrient absorption

Weight loss secret 3: Increasing metabolism and energy

Weight loss secret 4: Reducing cholesterol and body fat

These weight loss secrets are quite simple to talk about but many weight loss diets have struggled to find a way to actual find a diet that works.

Introducing Yogic Slim

Yogic Slim is a natural herbal supplement for weight loss. It is designed to change more than just your diet and therefore is great if you want to experience permanent weight loss. Yogic Slim is the key that helps your metabolism function better to burn fat.

Yogic Slim Works!

CLICK HERE to find out more about Yogic Slim – your weight loss secret

The advantage of Yogic Slim is you are able to get started on your Yogic Slim programme today to get permanent weight loss. You do not have to worry about side affects and there are no ad machines or other exercise machines that you “have to buy” and which will clutter up your house.

The sucess of this weight loss programme is the herbal supplements whcih successfully correct the basis for excess weight by regulating appetite, optimizing digestion and nutrient absorption, increasing metabolism and energy, and reducing cholesterol and body fat.

This is the simple Yogic Slim weight loss secret.

Yogic Slim engenders enzymatic activity in the thyroid to increase metabolism, rejuvenates the liver which holds the key to many of the body’s fat-burning mechanisms, minimizes nervous tension to remove turmoil in the digestive tract, promotes production of digestive enzymes to hasten digestion so food has less opportunity to be converted into stored fat, supports blood formation which has a positive impact on the body’s energy levels, maintains a healthy balance of cholesterol, triglycerides, and phospholipids, retards the buildup of fatty plaques that may harden arteries, and introduces equilibrium that prevents excess appetite.

Causes of Weight Gain & Obesity

Most obesity is caused by energy imbalance (consuming more calories than the body needs)and it is important that we deal with the causes of weight gain first.

In most cases obesity is not caused by one single factor.

When we take in more calories than we burn off we gain weight. How we eat and how active we are affect how our body uses calories and accumulates fat.

There are a number of common factors that interact and contribute to being overweight or obese:

Causes of Weight Gain – Genes

Obesity in many cases runs in families and may have nothing to do with your diet. If one or both of your parents are obese your own risk of being obese is higher because your genes determine your body shape and therefore to some extent they also determine your potential weight.

There are plently of people however who are fat or obese and yet have skinny parents so don’t use this as the reason you are overweight – you can still manage your weight.

Causes of WeightGain -Fatty Foods

What food are you eating?

Daily intake of fast foods such as Hot dogs, Big Macs, French fries, Nachos, Potato Chips etc — all these high-fat favorites are causes of soaring obesity rates in the World we live in. And the “up sized” meal options that are offered only increase the amount of fat intake.

There are plenty of choices though if you are prepared to make some changes – and any small changes can help.

Remember your body can only process so much food and you are better to moderate the intake – it is generally cheaper too!

Causes of Weight Gain -Lifestyle

If you spend most of your time at a desk your risk for obesity is higher. The risk is higher for people whose fat intake makes up more than 30 percent of their daily calories. People who get 20 to 30 minutes of exercise most days or have an active lifestyle are less likely to be obese.

Causes of Weight Gain -Metabolic Rate

This is the rate at which your body uses food and is the weight loss secret that most diet programmes do not address. If your metabolism tends to be slow you are more likely to store excess calories in the form of fat. A slow metabolism means you probably need to work harder at losing weight.

Causes of Weight Gain -Psychology

Some people overeat when they feel stressed out or depressed. About 30 percent of obese people are binge eaters (overeaters).

Understanding Yogic Slim & The Weight Loss Secret

The weight loss secret is the ingredients in Yogic Slim which comprise of a proprietary blend that goes to work directly on your entire body to help it become a leaner, more efficient, fat-burning center.

Simply take one Yogic Slim capsule two times per day to maintain and intensify these effects on your metabolism over time.

Yogic Slim uses natural herbal supplements for weight loss.

Yogic Slim contains the 8 most potent herbal concentrates available in Ayurvedic Science for slimming and is backed by clinical studies.

When formulated in the correct amounts and blended by our proprietary process, 94 natural phytonutrients exert 352 synergistic activities on your body to correct the basis for excess weight by regulating appetite, optimizing digestion and nutrient absorption, increasing metabolism and energy, and reducing body fat and cholesterol.

Say “NO” To Medical Treatment For Obesity

Western medicine relies on aggressive prescription drugs and surgery (liposuction / stomach reduction) to deal with problems related to obesity. Unlike the Yogic Slim programme they generally address only the symptoms of obesity and not the underlying causes of weight gain.

And as soon as you stop using the drugs, the causes for weight gain have not been addressed so the problem returns!

Also prescription drugs often result in unwanted and even dangerous side effects. For example, the combined side effects of Sibutramine, Orlistat, and Phentermine include an increased number of bowel movements, constipation, dry mouth, gas with bowel movements, headache, heart and lung problems, inability to control bowel movements, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, irritability, nausea, nervousness, oily or fatty stool, oily spotting, flatulence (with discharge), and an urgent need to go to the bathroom, possible addiction, sleep problems, and excessive sweating.

Natural Treatment For Obesity Is Better

The weight loss secret is the ingredients in Yogic Slim which comprise of a proprietary blend that goes to work directly on your entire body to help it become a leaner, more efficient, fat-burning center.

Yogic Slim contains the most potent herbal concentrates available in Ayurvedic Science for slimming. These natural herbal supplements for weight loss are 100% safe and do not require a prescription so you are able to get started on your Yogic Slim programme today to get permanent weight loss.

Not Adressing the Causes of Weight Gain

Not Adressing the Causes of Weight Gain is not an option you want to consider.

The following are immediate consequences of obesity; breathlessness, excessive sweating, snoring and insomnia (sleep issues), difficulty coping with sudden physical activity, feeling very tired every day, back and joint pains, reduced mobility and low self-esteem leading to a feeling of isolation from society – depression.

These immediate consequences are hard to reverse and often lead to long-term problems with obesity such as; greatly increases risk of: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease and stroke, breast cancer in women, gall bladder disease, gastro-esophageal reflux disease and associated problems, arthritis of the back, hips, knees and ankles, diabetes, and reduced life expectancy.

If you want to lead a healthy lifestyle than you should be making a decision to address the causes of weight gain today and get yourself on a path leading to permanent weight loss.

Other Things You Can Do

Drink Water

Avoid dehydration and help liberate fat stores to be burned as energy by drinking more water every day. Try to keep a bottle with you at all times and sip whenever you think of it.

Multivitamins

A good quality multivitamin / mineral supplement is always advisable for maximizing metabolism and fat loss.

Eat Small Meals Daily

Spreading food intake improves nutrient absorption, minimizes blood sugar fluctuations, and decreases fat-storing hormones and enzymes. Try having smaller main meals and slightly larger snacks – but try to keep you snacks healthy too.

Optimize Your Diet

Increase food high in fiber, reduce the intake of saturated fats, look for foods that have lower GI (Glycemic Index) carbohydrates and also look for food that is high in protein. The extent to which you optimize your diet will be determined upon your current situation – your current weight problems.

And Exercis Too

Both aerobics and weight training help. Try to complete up to 60 minutes of aerobics (jogging, fast walking, swimming, cycling) on alternating days from weight training as this will help to burn fat and calories, increase physical endurance, strengthen heart and lungs, help control blood lipid levels and blood pressure, increase insulin sensitivity, and enhance energy and ability to cope with stress. Weight Training increases muscle mass meaning a higher resting metabolic rate and more again calories burned.

Good Luck

You Now Know The Weight Loss Secret

If You Can’t Get to Sleep

So you can’t get to sleep…

If you can’t get to sleep then you can rest assured you are not the only person thinking I can’t get to sleep – the sleep issues here and around the World are huge.

Did you know at least 40 million Americans who each year suffer from chronic, long-term sleep disorders or one of the additional 20 million who experience occasional sleeping problems.

Consider the number Worldwide who can’t get to sleep.

WOW – 40 Million Can’t Get To Sleep!

It is estimated that sleep issues cost America over $16 billion in medical costs each year. You may think this is a huge amount of money but the indirect costs of these sleep issues due to lost productivity and other factors are probably much greater.

Managing Sleep Disorders

Most of our sleep issues can be managed effectively once they are correctly diagnosed.

If you are someone who can’t get to sleep you will be interested to read about the most common sleep disorders include insomnia, sleep apnea and restless legs syndrome.

These sleep disorders and the resulting sleep deprivation interferes with our work, can affect our driving and also impact our social activities. The effects of sleep deprivation or other problems sleeping can mean we are always sleepy during the day and therefore are unable to operate as effectively as we would like.

When we can’t get to sleep we are always sleepy.

We also tend to avoid exercise and this lack of exercise can lead to other health problems including obesity, breathing difficulties and even joint pain. Exercise is another key function that our bodies need to ensure we can enjoy life.

To understand why we can’t get to sleep it is important to firstly understand why we need sleep.

Benefits of Sleep

There are many known benefits of sleep.

When we sleep our body rests and is able to restore its energy levels.

Regular sleep helps you cope with stress, solve problems and recover from illness.

Why Do We Sleep?

Scientists continue to learn exactly why we need to sleep.

Animal studies show that sleep is necessary for survival. The studies show that rats which normally live for up to 3-years will only live for about 3-weeks when totally sleep deprived.

Sleep deprived rats also develop abnormally low body temperatures and sores on their tail and paws. The sores may develop because the rats’ immune systems become impaired.

Other studies suggest that sleep deprivation affects the immune system in detrimental ways.

It appears that sleep is necessary for your nervous system to work properly.

Too little sleep leaves you always sleepy and unable to concentrate the next day. It also leads to impaired memory and physical performance and reduced ability to carry out math calculations.

If sleep deprivation continues then hallucinations and mood swings may also develop.

Some researchers believe sleep gives neurons used while you are awake a chance to shut down and repair themselves. Without sleep neurons may become so depleted in energy or so polluted with byproducts of normal cellular activities that they begin to malfunction.

Sleep also may give the brain a chance to exercise important neuronal connections so when we can’t get to sleep the brain doesn’t get the exercise and therefoprethat might otherwise deteriorate from lack of activity.

Deep sleep also coincides with the release of growth hormone in children and young adults. Many of the body’s cells also show increased production and reduced breakdown of proteins during deep sleep.

Since proteins are the building blocks needed for cell growth and for repair of damage from factors like stress and ultraviolet rays, deep sleep may truly be “beauty sleep.”

A Good Night’s Sleep Is Important

Sleep is just as important for long-term health as diet and exercise. If you feel sleepy during the day then you are not getting enough sleep. It may be because you can’t get to sleep or you may experience sleep deprivation due to other problems sleeping.

Whatever sleeping issue you have, you need to address it before it becomes a more serious issue – a good night’s sleep is important.

Too Little Sleep

The amount of sleep you need depends on many factors including age and research suggests;

Infants generally require about 16-hours of quality sleep each day.

Teenagers need about 9-hours on average of quality sleep each day.

Most adults need about 8-hours a night of quality sleep although some people may experience no sleep issues with only about 5-hours sleep. Others may find they require as many as 10-hours of sleep each day to ensure they are not always sleepy the following day.

People tend to sleep more lightly and for shorter time spans as they get older, although they generally need about the same amount of quality sleep as they needed in early adulthood.

About half of all people over 65 can’t get to sleep quickly or have other frequent sleeping problems such as insomnia. This change may be a normal part of aging or it may result from medical problems that are common in elderly people. Some sleep issues can be a direct result of medications and other treatments that people are taking.

The amount of sleep you need increases if you have been deprived of quality sleep in previous days. Getting too little sleep creates a “sleep debt,” which is much like being overdrawn at a bank and eventually your body will demand that the debt be repaid.

You don’t adapt to getting less quality sleep than you need.

While you may get used to a sleep-deprived schedule, your judgment, reaction time, and other functions will be impaired.

Sleep Deprivation = Sleep Issues

In the short term sleep deprivation is known to cause a range of sleep related issues in our communities including;

Decreased Performance and Alertness

Sleep deprivation induces significant reductions in performance and alertness.

Reducing your nighttime sleep by as little as one and a half hours for just one night could result in a reduction of daytime alertness by as much as 32% with many adults saying they had missed work or made errors at work because of sleep-related issues in the previous three months.

And it is important that your sleep is quality sleep not broken sleep.

Memory and Cognitive Impairment

Decreased alertness and excessive daytime sleepiness impair your memory and your cognitive ability – your ability to think and process information.

Stress On Relationships

Disruption of a bed partner’s sleep due to a sleep disorder may cause significant problems for the relationship.

Almost eight in every ten married couples say their partner has a sleep problem like snoring, insomnia, or general tossing and turning. These sleep issues may seem “normal” but the effects of sleep deprivation is not going to help even the best relationship and when there are other factors involved, the lack of quality sleep can be a trigger to other relationship problems.

About 20% of people will say that they have sex less often or have lost interest in sex because they’re too sleepy for sex.

Automobile Injuries

Each year lack of sleep is thought to be responsible for at least 100,000 automobile crashes, 71,000 injuries, and over 1,500 fatalities in America.

Often those same people who can’t get to sleep at home in bed are the people who nod off behind the wheel or just be lacking judgement due to the lack of quality sleep.

Long Term Sleep Deprivation

Long term sleep deprivation is associated with more serious illnesses such as high blood pressure, heart attacks, heart failure, stroke, obesity, depression, mood disorders, attention deficit disorder (ADD), mental impairment, and fetal and childhood growth retardation.

Sleep Issues Are Very Serious

One study has found that reduced sleep time is a greater mortality risk than smoking, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

As previously mentioned, many people who have sleeping disorders or what they deem as minor sleeping issues will just carry on with their daily lives – being always sleepy.

You may know you can’t get to sleep or may have nights of broken sleep but you just put these sleep issues down to a stressful lifestyle or busy workload etc without thinking of seeking any treatment.

Treat Your Sleep Issues Naturally

The effects of sleep deprivation or other problems sleeping can mean we are always sleepy during the day and therefore are unable to operate as effectively as we would like.

Many people who suffer from sleep issues are reverting to natural supplements which help maintain balance in your body and treat the underlying causes instead of the symptoms. The benefits of natural supplements like Mystic Sleep increase over time to promote better sleep.

Natural options to treat sleep issues such as Mystic Sleep can be purchased easily online.

The Key Sleep Issues / Sleep Disorders

If you can’t get to sleep then you may suffer from one of the almost 100 identified sleep disorders.

Insomnia

Almost everyone will occasionally suffer from short-term insomnia.

It may be that you are not sleeping at night, having broken sleep or can’t get to sleep. Insomnia is a problem if it affects your activities during the following day.

Insomnia almost always affects performance at work and you may have a feeling of being always sleepy during the day. These sleep issues can result from stress, jet lag, diet or many other factors.

About 60 million Americans will frequently suffer from insomnia for periods of time. Insomnia tends to increase in frequency with age and affects about 40 percent of women and 30 percent of men.

It is often the first and major symptom of an underlying and more serious medical disorder.

For short-term insomnia doctors may prescribe sleeping pills or other sedatives. Most sleeping pills will stop working after several weeks of nightly use as your body adjusts but continued long-term use is believed to actually interfere with good sleep.

Today many people who suffer from insomnia are reverting to natural supplements which help maintain balance in your body and treat the underlying causes instead of the symptoms. The benefits of natural supplements like Mystic Sleep increase over time to promote better sleep.

Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a disorder of interrupted breathing during sleep and usually occurs in association with fat buildup or loss of muscle tone with aging. It doesn’t mean you can’t get to sleep but instead is a sleep issue where your slepp is interupted.

These changes allow the windpipe to collapse during breathing when muscles relax during sleep This problem, called obstructive sleep apnea, is usually associated with loud snoring (although not everyone who snores has this disorder). Sleep apnea also can occur if the neurons that control breathing malfunction during sleep.

During an episode of obstructive apnea, the person’s effort to inhale air creates suction that collapses the windpipe. This blocks the air flow for 10 seconds to a minute while the sleeping person struggles to breathe.

When the person’s blood oxygen level falls, the brain responds by awakening the person enough to tighten the upper airway muscles and open the windpipe. The person may snort or gasp, then resume snoring. This cycle may be repeated hundreds of times a night – the person may not even be aware that they have had their sleep interupted.

The frequent awakenings that sleep apnea patients experience leave them continually sleepy and may lead to personality changes such as irritability or depression.

Sleep apnea also deprives the person of oxygen, which can lead to morning headaches, a loss of interest in sex, or a decline in mental functioning.

It also is linked to high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, and an increased risk of heart attacks and stroke.

Patients with severe, untreated sleep apnea are two to three times more likely to have automobile accidents than the general population. In some high-risk individuals, sleep apnea may even lead to sudden death from respiratory arrest during sleep.

An estimated 18 million Americans have sleep apnea however few of them have had the problem diagnosed.

Patients with the typical features of sleep apnea, such as loud snoring, obesity, and excessive daytime sleepiness, should be referred to a specialized sleep center that can perform a test called polysomnography. This test records the patient’s brain waves, heartbeat, and breathing during an entire night.

If sleep apnea is diagnosed, several treatments are available. Mild sleep apnea frequently can be overcome through weight loss or by preventing the person from sleeping on his or her back. Other people may need special devices or surgery to correct the obstruction.

People with sleep apnea should never take sedatives or sleeping pills, which can prevent them from awakening enough to breathe.

Restless Legs Syndrome

Restless legs syndrome (RLS), a familial disorder causing unpleasant crawling, prickling, or tingling sensations in the legs and feet and an urge to move them for relief, is emerging as one of the most common sleep disorders, especially among older people.

This disorder, which affects as many as 12 million Americans, leads to constant leg movement during the day and insomnia at night.

This is another sleep disorder where the person affected may not be aware of the sleep issue. Again, it is not a sleep issue whereby the person can’t get to sleep.

As mentioned there are almost 100 identified sleep disorders and we have only looked at three of the more common.

Others such as Narcolepsy affect an estimated 250,000 more Americans.

Western Medicine or Natural Ayurveda Medicine?

For those of us who can’t get to sleep, Western medicine relies on treatment ranging from bright-light therapy (for Circadian Rhythm Disorders), costly prescription drugs (for Hypersomnia, Insomnia, Restless Legs Syndrome, Narcolepsy, Circadian Rhythm Disorders), and surgery (for Sleep Apnea and Snoring).

Commonly prescribed medications for people who can’t get to sleep are Alpha2 Agonists (Catapres), Anticonvulsants (Gabapentin, Neurontin), Antidepressants (Anafranil, Desyrel, Prozac, Trazodone, Tofranil), Benzodiazepines (Clonazepam, Halcion, Klonopin, Restoril, Xanax), Carbidopa, Dopamine Agonists (Mirapex, Parlodel, Permax, Requip), Dopaminergic Agents (Pergolide, Sinemet), GABA Agonists (Baciofen, Lioresal), Levodopa, Mirapex, Modafinil, Nonbenzodiazepine Hypnotics (Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata), Opiates (Darvon, Vicodin), Rozerem, Stimulants (Provigil, Ritalin), Sonata, and Xyrem.

Side Effects You May Experience

The combined common side effects of these drugs include back pain, bed wetting, blurred vision, clumsiness or unsteadiness, coated tongue, confusion, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, double vision, drowsiness, drugged feeling, dry mouth, excessive daytime drowsiness, fatigue, feeling of a whirling motion, frequent urination at night, headache, increased saliva (spit), increased sweating, irritability, lightheadedness, loss of appetite, nausea, nightmares, nose irritation, runny nose, sleeplessness, sluggishness, stomach upset, sweating, taste change, throat irritation, tiredness, trouble sleeping, unusual weakness, upset stomach, urinary tract infection, vomiting, weight loss or gain, daytime drowsiness, feeling of hangover, nervousness, decreased appetite, general body discomfort, incoordination, muscle aches, stuffy nose, swelling of the skin, and tremors.

The combined and more severe side effects of these medications include abnormal thinking, aggressive behavior, agitation, Increased anxiety, back and forth eye movements, behavior changes, behavioral problems, blurred vision, change in school performance, changes in sex drive, chest pain, chills, clammy skin, cold skin, confusion, decreased coordination, decreased sexual ability, decreased sexual desire, depression, difficult breathing, difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing, fainting, fast heartbeat, fever, flushing, frequent to difficult urination, frequent urination, hallucinations, hives, hostility, hyperactivity, impulsive behavior, increased weakness of arms or legs, irregular heartbeat, itching, loss of appetite, loss of consciousness, loss of coordination, memory loss, memory problems, mental or mood changes, mood swings, numbness or tingling of the skin, one-sided weakness, panic attacks, persistent dizziness, persistent headache, persistent stomach pain, restlessness, ringing in the ears, seizures, severe dizziness, severe drowsiness, severe headache, severe stomach pain, shortness of breath, slow heartbeat, slurred speech, sore throat, speech changes, stiffness of arms and legs, stomach pain, suicidal thoughts or actions, swelling of the ankles, swelling of the face, swelling of the feet, swelling of the hands, swelling of the lips, swelling of the mouth, swelling of the testicles, swelling of the tongue, tightness in the chest, tremor, trouble concentrating, trouble sleeping, trouble walking or keeping balance, twitching, twitching of the face, twitching of the tongue, uncontrolled movements, unusual bleeding or bruising, unusual changes in behavior, unusual hoarseness, vision changes, vomiting, weakness, worsening of depression, yellowing of the skin or eyes, worsening trouble sleeping, blood in urine, light-headedness when rising from a lying or seated position, prolonged, inappropriate, or painful erections, stroke, increased jerking movements, trouble breathing, and unusual weakness.

These medications generally address only the symptoms of sleep disorder and not the underlying causes – they don’t address the reason you can’t get to sleep.

As soon as you stop using the drugs, the problems return so you may start experiencing broken sleep again or it may be that you can’t get to sleep plus along with host of withdrawal side-effects!

Or No Side Effects

Today many people who suffer from insomnia are reverting to natural supplements which can be taken without the risk of side effects.

For many years people considered natural supplements and herbal remedies as very alternative; however more recently the respect for natural treatments has increased and in America today many are recognised under the title of Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Natural supplements will help maintain balance in your body and treat the underlying causes instead of the symptoms. The benefits of natural supplements like Mystic Sleep increase over time to promote better sleep.

Causes Of Headaches

Although headaches may be thought of as unconnected to specific ailments or health conditions, the causes of headaches are often an indication that something within our body is not right. A headache can be the obvious symptom of a bigger health issue.

The common causes of headaches are allergy, emotional stress, eye strain, high blood pressure, a hangover (excess alcohol), infection, low blood sugar, nutritional deficiency, tension, and the presence of poisons and toxins in the body.

Another way of putting this is the headache is a symptom that you notice due to an imbalance within your body.

While nobody likes a headache, it may be the first sign of a bigger health issue and therefore the inconvenience of the headache may be the “alarm” that forces you to make changes to your lifestyle.

It is therefore the causes of headaches that are important to know.

Defining A Headache

A headache is the term used to define any kind of ache or pain that occurs in and around the head, or even in the upper neck.

Headaches may occur independently, in the sense that they are unconnected to any health condition or disease, or they may at times occur as a symptom of some disease.

All of us experience headaches at some point and it is in fact one of the most common complaints we have. The headache treatments we use vary, if we use any treatment at all.

A migraine is a very painful type of headache. People who get migraines often describe the pain as pulsing or throbbing in a specific area of the head. During migraines people are very sensitive to both light and sound and they may also become nauseated and even vomit.

Serious or chronic headaches are endured by as many as 45 million Americans and up to 28 million will suffer from migraines. Migraines are three times more common in women than in men.

A headache is also the most widely treated health condition with home remedies and pharmaceutical headache treatments available, but in most cases the treatment is only treating the symptoms (the headache) and is not dealing with the underlying causes of headaches.

Although the causes of headaches may in most cases be unconnected to specific ailments or health conditions, they are often like a warning system from our body that something is not right. To eliminate headaches you need to establish what the underlying causes of headaches are and then address those health issues.

Leading Causes Of Headaches

Stress and lack of sleep are leading causes of headaches.

If you haven’t had adequate sleep for a few nights in a row you would most likely experience headaches.

Headaches may not necessarily be trigger by psychological factors such as emotional distress, stress and lack of sleep alone but these health issues are often symptoms of bigger health issues and therefore should be explored.

High Blood Pressure Linked With Headaches

It has been observed that people with high blood pressure (Hypertension) seem to suffer more frequent and severe headaches.

What is reason for this headache?

The science and physiology behind headaches is in favour of this observation, as well – increased blood pressure causes a process called autoregulation in the blood vessels that run through the tissue underneath the skull (where most headaches start). In other words, the autoregulation leads to constriction of these blood vessels, which is a very well known cause of headache symptoms.

This is a key reason that people relate headaches to stress.

Sinus Headaches And Migraines

Sinus headaches and migraines are one of the most common types of headaches although to classify a migraine as a headache would be an over simplification. Migraines are a lot more severe, and the experience of a migraine is not comparable to the normal headache.

Sinus headaches, which are the other common phenomenon, are triggered due to blockages of the sinus passages that create a build-up of pressure and also due to infections of the sinus like sinusitis.

Tension Headaches

Tension headaches generally occur due to causes like neck pain, stress, anxiety and depression and also because of muscle tightness or tension in the shoulders, jaws and scalp.

Tension headaches are most likely to affect you if you work excessively, if your social relationships are strained, if you follow irregular eating and sleeping patterns, or consume excessive amounts of alcohol.

As with almost any other health condition, the most effective treatment would be to eliminate the cause. Treatment with over the counter medications will simply provide relief and is therefore only a temporary solution. The problem does not automatically go away and it may become increasingly frequently.

Cluster Headaches

Cluster headaches are another type of headache that is not uncommon. Cluster headaches occur in cyclical patterns or clusters which is the reason for the name.

Cluster headache is one of the most painful types of headache. Cluster headache is sometimes called the “alarm clock headache” because it often will wake you in the middle of the night with intense pain in or around the eye on one side of your head.

Bouts of frequent attacks known as cluster periods may last from weeks to months, usually followed by remission periods when the headache attacks stop completely. During remission, no headaches occur for months and sometimes even years.

Fortunately the cluster headache is rare and not life-threatening.

Premenstrual And Menstrual Migraines

Premenstrual migraines occur between one and seven days before menstruation begins.

Menstrual migraines occur from the last day before your period begins up until four days after bleeding begins. True menstrual migraines do not occur on any other days of the month. About 14% of menstruating women experience true menstrual migraines.

While it is improbable that sex hormones can completely explain the difference, there is significant evidence that there may be a connection between migraines and fluctuations in estrogen levels in women. The problem appears to be the response of the central nervous system to normal hormonal fluctuations.

Headaches In Children

Headaches in children are not uncommon either and could have similar causes to other headaches; however if persistent, severe or your child is unresponsive to treatment you should seek medical attention promptly.

Under normal circumstances however mild natural headache treatments should suffice for headaches in children.

When dealing with headaches in children always check the forehead in case of a fever and seek medical advice promptly if there is any vomiting.

Headache Treatment

As you can see there are various types of headaches, with an even greater variety of causes of headaches – there is always an underlying cause of headaches.

In many cases we accept the headache as a normal part of our lives; however when headaches start to become more common or regular we should take notice of what our body may be telling us …. that there is a more serious health issue – the cause.

Headache treatment no matter what the cause or type of headache can however best be remedied through simple lifestyle changes, relaxation and restoring the natural balance within your body.

Herbal supplements are becoming increasingly popular as they are a natural way of restoring balance within your body. Two of the best herbal supplements are Ayurtox and Mystic Sleep.

Ayurtox helps remove body toxins and primes the body’s vital organs so that they can continue to rid the body of these body toxins and build up the body’s natural ability to protect itself from the future build up of these body toxins.

Mystic Sleep helps you attain quality sleep which helps you cope with stress, solve problems and recover from illness. When you sleep your body rests and restores its energy levels. Lack of sleep can cause and mental fatigue and anxiety and therefore lead to long-term physical and mental conditions including headaches.

I hope this helps you to understand the causes of headaches…

I Have High Cholesterol … So What Now?

I recently had a fasting blood test (lipids test) so that my insurance company could get the results of a cholesterol test and decide if they could offer me insurance at their standard rates. This was due to a previous test where my cholesterol hdl ldl ratio was not within the desired cholesterol range.

After the cholesterol test I was called by my doctor and asked to come in to discuss my high cholesterol as it was outside of what is deemed the normal cholesterol range and therefore she wanted to suggest a drug used to lower high levels of cholesterol so I could get back within the normal cholesterol range or to get my hdl ldl ratio normal.

My doctor has suggested a drug known as Lipitor which is an Atorvastatin or a drug from the statin family.

As I am not keen on pumping my body full of drugs I decided to research the drug Lipitor which was recommended to me and then look at what alternative treatments are available. I am always wary of taking drugs and the possible Lipitor side effects concerned me.

I already knew that diet, exercise and an increased intake of Omega fish oils could make a difference, but I needed to explore natural options of medication such as what herbal supplements were available and to understand if they would help.

Desire A Normal Cholesterol Range

I always believed that as the cholesterol range increases so does risk of coronary heart disease. In addition, when other risk factors (such as high blood pressure and tobacco smoke) are present this risk increases even more.

I have also been told that a person’s cholesterol range is affected by diet, exercise and weight (obesity) but can also be hereditary which makes it harder to maintain a normal cholesterol range.

While we are told to desire a normal cholesterol range I needed to understand more about what we are dealing with – what is a normal cholesterol range?

And is high cholesterol really your enemy?

About High Cholesterol

The first thing I had to do was learn about cholesterol and what the function of cholesterol is within our bodies.

Cholesterol is a fatty, waxy substance carried in the bloodstream made mostly by your liver as well as the foods we eat.

Cholesterol plays an essential role in how every cell in the body works.

Every cell membrane in our body contains cholesterol because cholesterol is what makes our cells waterproof—without cholesterol we could not have a different biochemistry on the inside and the outside of the cell.

However, too much cholesterol in the blood can increase your risk of heart disease.

When cholesterol levels are not adequate, the cell membrane becomes leaky or porous, a situation the body interprets as an emergency and releases a flood of corticoid hormones which work by sequestering cholesterol from one part of the body and transporting it to areas where it is lacking.

Cholesterol is the body’s repair substance. Scar tissue contains high levels of cholesterol and this includes scar tissue in the arteries.

Your body therefore needs some cholesterol to work properly, but too much cholesterol in the blood can create a fatty build up in your artery walls, narrowing arteries and restricting blood flow.

The Lipitor side effects started to concern me as I didn’t know if we should be getting rid of cholesterol?

The LDL HDL Ratio

There is only one cholesterol – not a good and a bad cholesterol!

Total cholesterol is a reading that combines the amount of all the different kinds of lipoprotein (referred to often as cholesterol) in your blood stream.

Lipoproteins are the fats combined with proteins.

High Density Lipoprotein cholesterol (hdl) is often called the ‘good’ cholesterol because it helps remove cholesterol from the artery walls reducing your risk of heart disease.

Low-Density Lipoprotein cholesterol (ldl) is often called the ‘bad’ cholesterol because it deposits cholesterol into the artery walls increasing your risk of heart disease.

A more accurate way to refer to good or bad cholesterol would be to talk about good ldl or bad ldl, but even most doctors and medical professionals will talk about good cholesterol being the hdl and bad cholesterol being the ldl so for the purposes of this article it might be easier to understand if we keep to the common terminology.

Triglycerides are the most common form of fat in our body. They are a storage form of energy for the body. High triglyceride levels are associated with many diseases, including heart disease and stroke.

A total cholesterol ratio is the combination of the ldl hdl ratio and is used by doctors to calculate your risk of heart attack or stroke.

Doctors will tell you that you run a greater risk of having a heart disease or stroke if your cholesterol levels are not well controlled and this is the primary reason they use for recommending the prescription drug Lipitor.

But they did not think the Lipitor side effects were a problem – so I researched more.

Learning About The Drug Lipitor

Lipitor is a drug which is an Atorvastatin.

Atorvastatin is a drug used to lower high levels of cholesterol and other fat-like substances in the blood. It acts both by reducing the production of cholesterol and increasing its rate of removal of cholesterol from the body.

It is given by mouth to people who have hypercholesterolaemia which is a high cholesterol levels in the blood. Doctors claim that if left untreated, these high cholesterol levels in the blood may lead to the development of atherosclerosis.

Atherosclerosis is a fatty sludge that can form inside the tubular lining of the blood vessels carrying high pressure blood (the arteries) and can partially block an artery making it difficult for blood to flow and also making it likely that the blood will clot at that point.

If a blood clot forms in an artery in the brain, a stroke occurs; if it happens to an artery around the heart then a heart attack (myocardial infarction) will occur.

Lipitor, which is an Atorvastatin is therefore given as a long-term to preventative medication for those at risk of having a stroke or a heart attack.

There’s no doubt that drugs like Lipitor help with lowering cholesterol and improving the hdl ldl ratio so therefore reducing the chance health issues such as strokes and heart attacks but as with most drugs there can be a hidden cost – the Lipitor side effects.

Lipitor Used By Millions

Millions of Americans take drugs to help lower their cholesterol but like most prescription medications these drugs are often unnecessary, as most Americans could lower their LDL (bad) cholesterol levels simply by changing their diet and lifestyle.

However we live in a world where most people are looking for a “quick fix.”

The problem with these drugs is that they can have serious Lipitor side effects and often end up doing more harm than good.

Just because Lipitor is a popular cholesterol lowering drug doesn’t automatically mean it is the best way to lower cholesterol and after you understand the possible Lipitor side effects you too may also look for other ways to lower your cholesterol.

The Possible Lipitor Side Effects

What are the possible Lipitor side effects?

With almost all drugs there are side effects and unfortunately doctors tend not to highlight these as they say the benefits will outweigh any side effects from the drugs in most cases.

Doctors and pharmacists are often so keen to “sell” their patients these profitable drugs that they fail to explain in full the potential side effects of drugs like Lipitor. These side effects can outweigh any potential good the drugs might purport to do.

Cholesterol lowering drugs like Lipitor work by inhibiting the enzyme needed to manufacture cholesterol in the liver. The problem is that this also stops the body producing important nutrients like CoQ10 which has been shown to benefit heart health. This is one of the Lipitor side effects.

In addition, Lipitor can cause a number of other minor side effects such as tummy upsets, constipation, flatulence, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, dyspepsia, headaches and insomnia.

But the more serious side-effects from taking Lipitor (Lipitotr side effects) may include liver damage, kidney damage, muscular disorders, erectile dysfunction, memory loss, fevers and fatigue.

Liver Damage

Liver damage is a problem related with the use of Lipitor or any other HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (“statin” drug). While not common, studies have shown damage occurring approximately 2% of the time and you therefore need to be aware that this could affect you.

Kidney Damage

Lipitor which is taken to lower cholesterol can produce symptoms that mimic the flu. Doctors can easily miss the connection, but muscle aches may signal tissue breakdown which if not treated can lead to serious kidney damage.

Muscular Disorders

The most common side effect is muscle pain and weakness, a condition called rhabdomyolysis which is most likely due to the depletion of Co-Q10 which is a nutrient that supports muscle function.

The pharmaceutical industry insists that only about 2% of patients get muscle aches and cramps but other studies have reported that over 90% of patients taking Lipitor have suffered from muscle problems.

Active people are much more likely to develop problems than those who are sedentary.

Erectile Dysfunction

Impotence or erectile dysfunction has been linked to, but not conclusively proven to be a side effect attributed to the use of statin drugs such as Lipitor.

Memory Loss

Memory loss has been noted in patients who have been taking Lipitor medication for long time. The literature available is conflicting with regard to the effects of Lipitor and other statins on memory loss and therefore until more research is available memory loss is a side effect that remains inconclusive.

Fever

Fever can occur in conjunction with muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, malaise and raised blood levels of muscle enzymes.

Fatigue

Fatigue is generally defined as a feeling of lack of energy and motivation and it can be physical, mental or both. Fatigue is not the same as drowsiness but the desire to sleep may accompany fatigue as well as a general lack of energy and feeling run down.

And No Alcohol

Lipitor and alcohol are not to be taken together.

There are several different problems that can arise due to this deadly combination.

Lipitor and alcohol taken together can lead to liver damage when Lipitor is taken over a long period of time.

Alcohol can enhance the severity of the various side-effects of Lipitor and therefore any side-effects which generally may not bother you may cause larger issues.

Studies have confirmed that the cells of the intestine may become inflamed when Lipitor and alcohol are used simultaneously.

As alcohol can increase the risk of side-effects, it is important for you to discuss with your doctor about it before starting on Lipitor. You must inform your doctor if you generally consume more than 2 alcoholic beverages every day.

You may either have to reduce the consumption or completely abstain from drinking while on Lipitor.

Is It Worth The Risk?

The long-term safety of Lipitor has not been proven and it is important to realise with Lipitor or any drugs that new side effects are often only discovered years or decades after drugs have been approved and used.

After researching the possible side effects I decided that taking Lipitor would only be considered if I could find no other way to reduce cholesterol.

And there is also varying opinion about cholesterol being bad for you!

The Cholesterol Myth

So is there a cholesterol myth?

After years of being told that high cholesterol is bad for us all and that it will lead to cardiovascular disease and possibly a stoke, we are now learning that cholesterol may be good for us. This concept is what has been referred to as the cholesterol myth.

Science tells us that no animal (human included) can live on Earth without cholesterol as it is a vital component in every cell membrane. This reality tells us that cholesterol cannot in itself be a bad thing – we would not be alive today without cholesterol.

We also know how Vitamin D is incredibly good for your health. What you may not be aware of is that Vitamin D is created from UVB rays in sunlight which interacts with the cholesterol in your skin to convert it to Vitamin D.

In summary; the cholesterol is in our bodies to do a job – to help our bodies heal and repair any areas damaged or inflamed. This means that the body makes higher levels of cholesterol when required to help heal and repair our bodies.

The basis of the cholesterol myth is that doctors and conventional medicine are looking at the wrong issue – a high level of cholesterol is probably in our bodies to help heal and repair some other health issues and therefore we should be looking at dealing with the underlying cause rather than focusing on the symptoms.

The Natural Alternative

When I started looking for an alternative to Lipitor I was looking at diet and exercise to lower cholesterol levels so that I would have a better hdl ldl ratio or normal cholesterol level and therefore lower my risk of developing a heart condition.

After researching my options I designed my own five step plan;

Diet

Omega Fish Oil

Exercise

Herbal Supplements

Sleep

Diet

Eat a healthy cholesterol lowering diet.

Some fats help lower cholesterol, while others can raise it so the focus is to get a balance – to get the fats right. Reduce overall fat intake, avoid trans fats, limit saturated fats and replace “bad” fats with “good” fats, such as olive oil and those found in whole grains and omega 3 fish.

High fiber foods also help lower cholesterol naturally and they decrease “bad” ldl and increase “good” hdl to give a better overall balance within my cholesterol.

Omega Fish Oil

Everyone has told me that Omega fish oil is good for me and as it is a natural product I am happy to take the fish oil tablets to help manage my cholesterol.

Exercise

Do regular healthy physical activity.

At least 30 minutes of exercise a day has been shown to decrease total cholesterol and improve “good” HDL cholesterol levels, while lack of regular physical activity can raise “bad” LDL cholesterol levels as well as lead to weight gain.

It may be hard to find 30-minutes each day, but anything that you can do is better than doing nothing.

Getting a good night’s sleep is important as this is the time our body carries out its repairs.

The ingredients in Cardiofy comprise a Proprietary Blend that goes to work directly on the entire cardiovascular system with positive impact on hormonal levels, blood flow, and core energy.

You simply take one Cardiofy capsule two times per day to maintain and intensify these effects on your cardiovascular system over time and therefore to help your body reduce the high cholesterol.
